Esko and DuPont™ Cyrel® collaboration successfully delivers third complete platemaking line at Uzbekistan’s Alaniya Flex

Alaniya Flex achieved a significant milestone in September 2024, with the successful installation of the new line of cutting-edge equipment. The line comprises the advanced Esko CDI Crystal 4260 plate imaging unit and XPS Crystal 4260 plate exposure unit, working in line with the DuPontTM Cyrel® 2000 Dryer and 2000 Light finisher units. With this installation, completed by specialists from the two leaders in the field of flexographic printing solutions, Alaniya Flex now boasts its third complete line for producing flexographic printing plates, solidifying its position as a major player in the prepress industry within Uzbekistan and the broader Central Asian market.

The installation of the Esko CDI Crystal 4260 and XPS Crystal 4260 represents a major step forward for Alaniya Flex in terms of quality, efficiency, and productivity. The CDI Crystal 4260 is recognized for its ability to produce high-resolution images on flexographic plates, contributing to sharper and more detailed print results. Its counterpart, the Esko XPS Crystal 4260, provides precise UV LED exposure, which improves the accuracy and consistency of plate exposure and enhances repeatability and overall print quality. Together, they form a powerful duo that ensures exceptional quality in the production of flexographic printing plates, reducing both time and labor while maintaining consistency across print runs.

“We have our own in-house platemaking facility, equipped with Esko 5080 CDI Crystals as well as XPS Crystal exposure units,” said Lee. “We started using Print Control Wizard around four years ago, and as recently as the end of 2023 we began using PCW for Corrugated.”

Gary Dawson explained that Rivendell prides itself on being at the forefront of technological developments in the industry, and so the team was quick to see the benefits of Crystal screening. “Then when our customers hear about it, they are keen to see the difference it gives to their plates and the final print quality,” he said. “With Crystal screening, we’re able to offer the best quality product. This means printers get better ink laydown, better white coverage, much better solid color, transition of highlight dots and so on. The overall quality is just massively improved.”

The addition of the DuPontTM Cyrel® 2000 Dryer and 2000 Light Finisher further complement the new line, bringing advanced drying and finishing capabilities and providing efficient drying and processing of plates, ensuring they are ready for use in a shorter time frame, reducing downtime and improving turnaround times for clients. These machines contribute to a streamlined workflow, enabling Alaniya Flex to maintain the highest standards of quality and speed for its customers.
