Esko, AVT, X-Rite & Pantone bring closed loop color to the packaging supply chain - Esko

Esko, AVT, X-Rite & Pantone bring closed loop color to the packaging supply chain

Esko, AVT, X-Rite & Pantone are combining their strengths: automation and collaboration solutions integrate with color technology and inline camera inspection solutions.

The integrations preserve the digital flow of data across connected systems.

The benefit? Faster time to market and ‘Right First Time’ production in smaller lot sizes reducing cost and waste. What’s more, it provides visibility and traceability on color and content quality performance driving continuous improvement KPI’s. Read the press release here.

Benefits:
  • Faster time to market
  • Right first time
  • visibility on color & content quality

Automate print inspection, increase press uptime

AutoSet - Esko Automation Engine integration with AVT (Helios/Argus)

Print inspection depends on manual intervention by the press operator. This impacts the press setup time and the quality, as human intervention is prone to errors.

AutoSet is a digital link between Esko’s leading packaging prepress workflow, Automation Engine, and AVT inspection systems Helios and Argus which enables a fully automated setup of AVT inspection systems on conventional and digital presses, as well as on rewinders. Benefits:
  • Eliminate human errors
  • Reach higher accuracy in quality control
  • Increase press uptime with 30-60 minutes per press per shift

Optimize in-line color measurement & automate color reporting

Integration between X-Rite ColorCert and AVT Spectralab

Brand owners are increasingly placing tighter color requirements on converters.

For converters in-line color measurement is sub-optimal. The job set-up is inefficient and there are no automated color reporting capabilities

This integration creates a connection between AVT Spectralab - an inline spectrophotometer - and X-Rite ColorCert.

X-Rite ColorCert Suite defines color requirements and collects press run color data to report on color performance. It now connects to AVT Spectralab in-line color measurement device. This means that job data is automatically sent to the spectro, which automatically sets up the job for inline color measurement.

During the run, the color measurements are sent directly from AVT’s Spectralab to X-Rite’s ColorCert, which collects the data and builds a color scorecard, reporting on the color quality performance of the print run to converters and Brand owners alike

Benefits:
  • Improved visibility into the color performance, with clear measurable results. This helps converters to boost their performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Visibility and transparency for the Brand owner driving supply chain consistency and Brand consistency

Save 5 minutes job setup time, each time

Esko WebCenter integration with X-Rite ColorCert

Today’s operators manually and separately enter production specifications into different systems, creating redundancy and room for error.

A digital link between Esko’s collaboration platform WebCenter, and X-Rite’s ColorCert Suite automatically populates color-related specification fields for job creation inside ColorCert which is the basis for the above integration with Spectralab.

When the job runs on the printing press, scorecards from ColorCert return to WebCenter to be stored and displayed inside the project for true closed-loop color control and reporting.

Read more about Esko’s WebCenter and ColorCert Suite.

Benefits:
  • Reduce labor time for job creation in ColorCert by 3 -5 minutes per job
  • Reduce errors by eliminating duplication of data
  • Improve traceability
