Together with its Swiss distribution partner Igepa Adoc, Esko installed the first Kongsberg XP Auto in Switzerland at ComRo Rohner AG (www.comro.ch). Founded in 1996, ComRo is a display and print service provider with 24 employees, focused on the production of POS-Displays, decoration furniture, shop and shop window design, packaging, banners and outdoor advertising. The company choose the Kongsberg table to expand its cutting and finishing equipment.
Main goal of the investment is to meet the increasing demand of displays, exhibit design and decoration furniture as well as packaging made of carton board, corrugated board, and especially ReBoard – ComRo is one the biggest converters of ReBoard in Switzerland.
With the investment, the company wants to reduce productions times while more effectively employing its resources. "The fully automatic Kongsberg XP Auto is working almost constantly. This unsupervised working mode was crucial for our decision, along with the print-to-cut registration on both sides of the material,” says Silvan Rohner, managing director of ComRo. The registration system, driven by two cameras, scans the starting point on each sheet and provides the highly accurate registrations marks on both sides of the material. “A camera system that only registers the marks when the printed side it up, does not help. This is especially important for ReBoard and corrugated material as these are cut when the printed side is facing down."
