Newly founded German prepress service provider and trade shop, FlexoArt, has streamlined its print operation by implementing a completely EskoArtwork-based workflow built around the Digital Flexo Suite, a CDI Advance 5080 plate setter and Kongsberg XL22 table. The company specializes in producing artwork, color management and flexo plates for the packaging industry. The EskoArtwork installation has enabled FlexoArt to optimize its print infrastructure, increase the quality of its output and reduce waste.

FlexoArt turned to the EskoArtwork digital flexo workflow to reduce the time and resource needed to launch new products. As coordinator between brand owner and packaging manufacturer, FlexoArt optimizes all workflow steps ahead of the printing process. The company’s main objective is to help its customers reduce the time to market of their products, while still delivering excellent results with the help of its best-in-quality flexo plates. 

“We wanted to make sure we got the most value from our set-up, so it made sense to implement a completely digital prepress workflow from EskoArtwork,” explains Thomas Gerich, Managing Director, FlexoArt. Thanks to the recent installation, FlexoArt can now produce top-quality flexo plates. The CDI Advance 5080, as the core of the installation, integrates perfectly into the Digital Flexo Suite workflow, which delivers high-output and advanced production tasks. The robust and flexible Kongsberg XL22 table will be used to not only cut the flexo plates, but also for finishing samples and dummies.

The demands of customers operating in the corrugated cardboard industry are continually rising, and recent trends include the increased use of color and the shift towards higher print quality. “Corrugated paper and packing also have to convey the value of a product,” adds Gerich. “But this is only possible when the print preparation is in competent hands.
