JRD Printpack invests in Esko’s packaging workflow
To increase the efficiency of its carton printing and converting JRD installed Esko’s packaging workflow software including ArtiosCAD, DeskPack and Studio Designer. JRD Printpack’s Managing Director Janhavi Rasiklal Dhariwal and Director Amit Dhariwal, Director, say, “With a vision to accommodate the amendments for clients we went ahead with ArtiosCAD, DeskPack and Studio designer 3D to accelerate the savings, reliability as well as the flexibility in the production workflow.” ArtiosCAD is the popular structural design software for packaging, and Amit believes it can meet the demands of both cartons and commercial printing.
Similarly, DeskPack offers essential prepress functions such as the addition of barcodes, trapping and imposition. Using quality control filters it can inspect and pre-flight files before they imaged on a plate and save costly errors on the press. “Importing CAD data and structural design files, it offers trapped production files that can be repeated and imposed for print-ready production files. It also easily allows the creation and in workflow generation of variable data for taking full advantage of a digital printing press.
Keeping the design perspective in mind, JRD went ahead with the installation of Esko’s Studio designer 3D software. Studio is a fast and easy way to turn ideas into beautiful 3D images and immensely useful for both prepress operators and packaging designers. It allows the creation of stirring 3D visuals from PDF files and is used to check and eliminate costly mistakes before making printing plates, embossing dies or spot varnish blankets.
“With Esko’s tools our intention is to convey that we have something unique, which will help us in providing better services compared to what customers are getting in the market. We also want to aid our customers as a packaging design company as well as a converter. With Esko’s software solutions we have the edge to target brand owners without errors,” Janhavi concludes.
