President and CEO

Carsten Knudsen (1961) was appointed President and CEO of Esko effective November 2005. Carsten previously served as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operations Officer of Esko, joining the company on October 21, 2002 as a member of the Executive Management Board.

From 2000 to 2002 Carsten served as a member of the Executive Management Board and CFO of ISS A/S, the world's largest facility service and cleaning organization, with 270,000 employees in 38 countries. He was responsible for overseeing finance, accounting and risk management activities, as well as investor relations, IT, procurement and human resources. During his tenure the company completed more than 100 acquisitions, almost doubling in size.

Carsten gained his executive experience by serving in progressively high-level positions. From 1987 to 2000 he held managerial positions with Maersk/A.P.Moller in Spain, Singapore and the USA, his last title was CFO for Maersk North America. One of Carsten's notable achievements was the acquisition and integration of Sealand Container Transport.

Carsten holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA.
