Structural Design Import enables the Adobe® Illustrator® users to read an ArtiosCAD ARD file, an EskoArtwork flexible .bag file and/or a Score! .vlm or .scb file.

Structural Design Export allows an Adobe Illustrator user to export contours from Illustrator to native ArtiosCAD .ard format. It also allows adding cutout windows to a loaded ArtiosCAD file. This installation package will install plug-ins for Adobe® Illustrator® CS2 and CS3.  These plug-ins do not require a license.

Structural Design Import
Esko's ArtiosCAD is the industry's most popular computer aided packaging design (CAD) software. ArtiosCAD provides structural designers with a tool for conceptual design, product development, and 'live' prototypes. Until now CAD files could only be exchanged in file formats such as DXF, EPS, CFF2 and structural intelligence such as folding, animation, material, etc. was lost.

With the ArtiosCAD plug-in you can open / place native ArtiosCAD files in Adobe® Illustrator® without any file conversion.

ArtiosCAD import features:

  • Dedicated alignment tool: allows to snap the CAD objects and lines to the graphical elements.
  • Locked CAD layer: prevents changing the CAD file with standard Adobe® Illustrator® editing tools.
  • Time stamp: automatic updates of CAD layer when the original CAD file is edited.
  • CAD line styles translator: The different CAD line styles are translated to custom colors.
  • 3D option: 3D modeling resulting in a VRML file.
  • Varnish separation option: extract varnish information and automatically create a varnish separation.

ArtiosCAD Export

Exports contours from Adobe® Illustrator® CS to native ArtiosCAD .ARD workspace format.

Until now, an EPS file had to be exported from Adobe® Illustrator® and opened in ArtiosCAD. After opening these files in ArtiosCAD line types needed to be assigned.

ArtiosCAD Export allows users to write ArtiosCAD files or to paste Adobe® Illustrator® objects directly into ArtiosCAD, including their line type properties. These line type properties can be assigned in Adobe Illustrator by using the ArtiosCAD line type swatch library.
