These are the minimum requirements for reasonable performance of the described products. They will help you decide whether the equipment you are currently using remains viable. If you are considering new equipment, bear in mind that these requirements are minimum, not optimal. Exceeding these specifications will in general lead to enhanced performance.

Note that installing Esko software on a terminal server (Microsoft, Citrix,…) is not supported. 
Note that windows 8 and windows server 2012 are not yet supported in Suite12.

Studio for PC:

 

  • Note that Studio Toolkit for Flexibles is currently not available for Windows.
  • CPU: An x86-32 or x86-64 compatible dual-core processor (Intel or AMD), minimum dual-core
  • Memory: Minimum 1GB RAM, recommended 4GB RAM
  • Harddisk: An NTFS volume is required. The software takes maximum 1GB of disk space. But take into account the need for storage of temporary and production data. A backup solution is strongly advised.
  • Network: 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet, TCP/IP v4 protocol, TCP/IP v6 protocol is not supported.
  • Video Card: DirectX9 compatible 3D graphics board from ATI or NVidia supporting fragment shaders and with at least 128MB video memory.  Examples are ATI Radeon 9600, 9700, 9800, Radeon X series, Radeon HD series and NVidia GeForce FX series, GeForce 6 series, GeForce 7 series, GeForce 8 series, GeForce 9 series. ATI FireGL boards and Intel embedded graphics are NOT supported.
  • CD/DVD: DVD-ROM drive
  • Virtualization: Parallels Desktop or Vmware Fusion can be used, but not all functionality seems to be working due to restrictions in the virtualization software. Also please be aware that Esko doesn't test all combinations of MacOSX and Parallels Desktop/Vmware Fusion. We discovered that some keyboard and mouse functionality is not working as expected.
  • Fileservers: All Esko applications running on Windows OS can use data that is available on network shares. These shares need to be on Windows or Unix/Linux (using SMB) file servers. Mac OS X (version 10.3.x; 10.4.x; 10.5.x; 10.6.x) data servers are also supported, but with limitations. These are standard limitations encountered when connecting to a Mac OS X server from Windows workstations or servers. They are related to losing resource forks of the MAC-application data when a Windows component moves or copies data.

  • A full installation of Apple QuickTime 6.5.1 or later is required. 
  • Memory: Minimum 1GB RAM, recommended 4GB RAM
  • Harddisk: The software takes about 400MB of disk space. Also take into account the need for storage of temporary and production data. A backup solution is strongly advised.
  • Use within Parallels Desktop, Vmware Fusion or any other virtualised environment is NOT supported.
